Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

I know some were concerned about the incorrect rail gauge on the Trumpeter Leopold.

I just compared - side by side - the axles of my Leopold kit and those of my Karl. Trumpeter have corrected the error. The error is also corrected on the kit-provided railway ties, so everything appears right straight out of the box.

As proof, I placed a wheel/axle assembly from the Trumpeter Karl kit on a length of DML/Dragon rails, and it fit beautifully, so at least the Karl kit is compatible with Dragon tracks and rail stock.

It's always good news when the industry is paying attention to modelers' concerns.
