Hi Antonio
Even if there was someone alive on planet earth who knew where to buy a Navigator resin IS 4 (and T34/100 gun tank ) and you(and me ) could get our mitts on one, I think we would be disappointed.I bought Navigator T-34/85 Yugoslavian version from NKR Hobbies in Australia once. It was barely buildable.Combined Maquettes T34 hull with resin bits.
If you have access to a copy of Model Art-JS STALIN you will find that on P86 there is an article by Minoru Shimizu on how to partially scratch build an IS 4 using quite a bit of the Tamiya IS 3.It is in Japanese but the pictures tell the story really. These days we could use Trumpeter kits to make the exersize a bit cheaper. It still looks like a lot of work, though the end result looks very nice indeed! Included in the article are also 16 detail photos and half size diagrams of the plastic pieces needed to make the tank. The book is not cheap, though if you are into big Russian tanks and SP guns then you just have to have it.
Maybe one day Eastern Express will smile upon us and make an IS 4 and a T-10(all three versions and the SP gun ). Maybe pigs might fly.Is that an oinking whirring sound I can hear?
Hope this "short" note has been useful.
Greg Harold. |
