| Subject: | T34/76 1942 tow cable(s) | |

I have two questions regarding the tow cable(s) for the Trumpeter 1/16 T34/76 1942 kit:
1. Are there two cables or one? The kit has 4 ends but has only one cable which is just a little longer than that required to make one cable.
2. The ends appear to be rather robust, one-piece castings with a solid loop integral with the socket for the cable. Checking my only print reference (T34 in Action, Squadron No. 20) there are some tantalizingly fuzzy pictures of such one-piece metal ends on the tow cables of circa 1942 models. Earlier T34's seem to have the usual cable wrapped around a thimble and then either spliced behind the thimble and wrapped with finer cable. None of my usual web-based references have any photos. Does anyone know of a reference (print or web) which has a clear photo of these cast (?) cable ends? |
