| Hi Larry, thanks for the comments. Some pictures in the Squadron book, especially the frontispiece (T34/85, 1945, rebuilt 1943 hull), clearly show the "ring" around the rear; other similar appearing "cast" ends do not have the ring. Some of the latter appear to be cast parts (just a sleave with no ring and no integral cast loop) with the cable threaded through this sleave and looped back. Together with the wire-wrapped, more conventional thimble ends pictured on miscellaneous early to late T34's, it seems that it would be "safe" to have virtually any type on any model. |
