The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too. |

I don't know how to respond effectively.
It was pre 2000 When I first purchased the L/70 version of this kit, I tried to find an answer. The old PE kit from AIRWAVES was the first I could come upon, so I bought it. It isn't as comprehensive as we're used to with the newer standards. So I bought Eduard's set for the Stug IV, thinking that should be close enough to model, right? No. Then I ordered my first Rubio Barrel from R&J Enterprises. It wasn't right, except for barrel length. Jordi had liquid lunch that day, or his subordinates had figured out how to GO OUT OF ROUND. I tried, with my decent machinist skills to improve that rendering. I still couldn't improve that barrel, even on a lathe.
I must say that incidence was a FLUKE, as most of us could only complain as to how all of Rubio's barrels look before inserting them into the mantlet. I still haven't built my PzJgdIV.
Eduard decided to respond with several sets covering the L/70 V Version of the 'Zwischen Losung'. That Kit is as rare as an M4A1, or Pzkpfw III Ausf G DAK. The lack of PE for the Lorraine Schlepper is also of study to me. It must be a case of 'Low on the Totem Poles'. |
