There's one photograph in the book "Panzer Tracts No. 9" that shows this vehicle with zimmerit. I can't tell what unit it is but there is some white lettering on the hull side, I can't read it though.

There is also a zimmeritless prototype (the tank with the big lifting hoops on the mantlet) too in this book.
