Andy,
When you say you are looking at the Sheridan kit from Academy I assume you mean the one that is currently out. If so this is a bad copy of the real old Tamiya kit. Academy is doing a new kit of the Sheridan, it has been reviewed on some other sites. As of yet it is only available in Korea or by mail order from some hobby stores in Asia or Japan. From the review I read, it is a Viet-nam era Sheridan with some minor flaws but a whole bunch improvement over the Tamiya kit and a lot cheaper than the resin kits.
