Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

I'll have to disagree with you. The kit is a dog and has many problems. I've photographed and studied several different museum Matilda's. The Tamiya kit is off in many places. To make it even look like a Matilda would mean cutting up and reshaping the hull front drivers area. Those simulated weld beads on the front should be smooth ridges and reach higher, they are actually part of the 3 piece front castings. The turret needs major detailing as well. The list can go on and on.

On the Bright side, Firestorm recently released an up date set that includes a new upper hull and turret. It is for an Austrailian Matilda, a lter version than you would see in the early desert battles. Soon we are getting a Tiger Models update, lets hope it is the early version.
