Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

The Italeri kit in itself is quite good, and good value for money, as there will be quite some spare bits if builded as intended.
OOTB, the result is: M4A2 late, fitted with wading trunks, though markings aren't correct for A2. Or M4A3, fitted or not with wading trunks. The M4A2 without wading trunks is not possible from the box as the rear exhaust details are missing.

Wading trunks are not correct for ETO theater, as the adapters dont fit M4/M4A1 rear plate. As said, for a D-DAy vehicle, get either the Tamiya or DML kit and add bits as needed. Italeri trunks can be used if the lower hull adapters is altered. Try and find a Military Modelling from about a year ago. It has a Zaloga article on converting the DML kit. Check the missing links gallery for some pics. Zaloga is a mod at the Missing Links Allied DG, so you could possibly contact him there for further questions, or ask the particular issue number.

Cheers, MartinD
