Hi Robert,
I have built Academy's Tiger IE late a couple of months ago.
In my opinion this could damage your (vinyl) tracks and the tracks will not fit correct onto the wheels.
I have fixed the tracks in right position using superglue. Some dots on different points, fix them with some clothespins for some minutes and that's it.... ;)
I have attached a pic for you to show my result. My 'first' Tiger ever. :)
