well,
i guess they did not know better. because looking at their latest kits, i think they try to be as accurate as possible. and they spend a great effort to get there. if i would display the hatch opened and knew it was wrong, it would disturb me. well i took almost finished kits apart after finding a flaw. so i will not build a kit with a flaw i know of.
