My blog chronicles my attempts to make an accurate Ram from a combination of "massaged" S-Model turret and a resculpted Resicast hull.
The S-Model lower hull is a direct copy of the Tamiya Grant hull and is thus too wide and has appalling rear plate detail as well as the infamous 6 spoke wheels. THe upper hull is a copy of the H&K 35 conversion with a coouple of new errors added to the mix.
If you are dead set on a Ram _right now_ then the S-Model is the closest full kit available, but it really isn't terribly close. The Resicast Ram badger & Kangaroo ahve hull shape problems, although they are both closer in overall look than the S-Model kit. Unfortunately, neither Resicast kit has a turret.
If all you want is an S-Model turret & front plate to go on the Resicast Kangaroo, then I can probably sell you one of mine as I have a couple to spare. If you want to wait a bit for a better Ram, then I will be making moulds of my masters and will be offering them for sale, but probably not for 9 months to a year. If you don't really have a reason to buy a Ram _right now_ then hold off on the S-Model kit as it really isn't up to snuff, no matter how cheap it might be.
