Thanks Ian,
That's what I was looking for.
Let me give some background on why it is I'm curious about the turret. A few years ago I was working on upgrading the Tamiya kit. Much of what you mentioned is correct based on the information I had. The exhaust fan domes are very much too small and not quite right on the shape and the three covers for vision blocks lack the lip that runs around their perimeter (I think they were bolted on from the inside). The commander's hatch has a raised ring that Tamiya lifted directly from the "KV-1C" which does not appear to be correct. Then too all the details on the turret roof were out of place to one extent or another (for instance the hatch was too far forward by something on the order of 5mm).
On the other hand I recall the hatch itself being about right size wise at least based on the fairly good drawings and photographs I had (so if Trumpeter’s hatch is significantly bigger it may be too big?). Of course, the hatch and transmission covers on the hull were, I believe, too small.
But, and this is where the turret dimensions were of interest to me, the biggest problem with Tamiya’s turret is that it’s about three or so millimeters too short in the back (IIRC). Because of this Tamiya ended up making the square cover at the rear sort too resulting in the cover being rectangular on the kit.
The long and short of this, based on your comments on the overall dimensions, is that Trumpeter’s turret may be too short as well. This will warrant further research I think.
BTW, I'm working off of memory here so don't quote me on any numbers I use 8-)
