With the four new early Panzer IV kit just released or out coming soon it may be interesting to discuss what we are planning to be doing with them. There was recently an Ausf. D from Tristar, this month DML will be releasing an Ausf. E, soon after this Tristar will produce an Ausf. C and then Dragon their own Ausf. D.
With the exception of those used by the DAK, I find the early Panzer IV tanks find pretty boring. So I was planning on making a DAK version with the Tristar D, however with the DML E coming out so soon, which looks specifically made as a DAK version I have now decided to build an upgraded D to G/H standards. These upgraded D tanks had the G running gear, longer 75mm and turret side armour. I actually haven't even received my Tristar D kit yet, it must be lost in the mail, so I may wait for the DML D. I have little interest in the Tristar C (or anyone's Ausf. C). I find the E to be the most interesting of the early Pz. IV tanks.
What is everyone else planning?
