Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

At least Tristar made their Road Wheel set to adapt to older kits...A knocked out Ausf E would be real cool to see :-)

The fenders aren't totally bad... It's been proven somewhat recently that it's not a total issue and if you want, you can swap between what we have all come to know as the 'norm' for a IV, and those Tristar fenders....If you wanted to, you could get an Aber IV fender set and maybe get the aber set for the III that has just the pattern for the fenders and mix and match...most pics we have all seen don't focus even really close on the fenders....besides, odds are, like in North Africa, you have to swap parts...and they did that a lot there...the Tanks in Detail book for the IV (Ausf A-J) has a pic on page 41 of a burning IV D in North Africa with the roadwheels that you are supposed to use (like on the box art), but it's mixed with the mid version (I believe), which are the ones that were mistankenly given out to begin with....

I still like the Tristar kit....I just wish they would have just given ya some more options (not just different unit deacals)...

What Dragon is doing with their E (3 in 1) is like Tamiyas D in a way...the Tamiya D is still a three in one (early, late, DAK)...Tristar will probably just make a late version D in the future...like with their I A...
