There was some curiosity about the two deep grooves that Trumpeter sculpted into their 152mm barrel for the KV-2.
Well I finally came across a photo that shows what may be the reason for them and thought you might like to see it.
It appears that, as some have speculated, the barrel did have a multisecton jacket visible here only because it was bent out of shape by the round the pierced the barrel.
In any case the kit has the separations between these sections way overdone.
