Forums - Modelling / Kits |
The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too. |

I have built the Academy kit twice, the Tank Workshop kit twice and the Verlinden kit once.
The Verlinden Tiger Fighting compartment is pretty horrible in terms of accuracy.
The Academy kit is also seriously deficient in the accuracy department.
Of the interiors that are out now, the TWS one is far above the competition, but yet, still needs work if you are going all out on the interior to be accurate.
All that being said, it depends what you want. If you want to disassemble your tiger to show a completely tricked out interior a la Lee Lloyd, you will need the TWS kit, good references and some scratchbuilding.
Don't discount academy though---If you just want an interior visible through the hatches, you can't beat the Academy kit. It is plenty accurate enough if you get the Eduard PE set for the interior or you scratch build the interior of the pistol port and fix up the cupola. Get that plus the TMD asymetrical turret and you will can have quite a nice model. Engine bay on this kit is hideous, so don't open that hatch though....
If you want more info, let me know and I can give you a more complete list of issues with Academy. |
