Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

Can anyone tell me exactly what's in this conversion? Since the CM-11 was an upgraded M48 turret mounted on an M60 chassis with M48 wheels, the AFV Club kit was basically bits of the Academy M48A5 and M60A1 kits.

However, from what I've read, the CM-12 was created by taking the same upgraded M48 turret and mounting it on an M48 chassis which, unsurprisingly, had M48 wheels. All of which suggests that the CM-12 is basically an M48 with a new fire control system which, even at Hobbyfan's high prices, makes the conversion kit seem a tad overpriced.

Since the kit's marketed as a conversion, I'm assuming they expect you to start out with an Academy M48A5. What exactly is in the Hobbyfan box to warrant the price tag?
