Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

RC,

Having slogged through building the Trumpeter kit (in the gallery) I got all excited about the Tamiya kit. It's really a top notch kit and needs little extra work.

I bought the LionMarc barrel (available through Tiger Models) and it's really, really, really, unbelievably cool. It has a metal core with two resin sheaths that go over it. This is a must get. I also bought the Eduard p/e which adds basically all of the details you'll need.

Personally, I'd use the kit tracks. They're really well done and you can't see most of them anyway in the desertized version.

Depending on your patience, you might replace the figures but personally, I'm going to use the Tamiya ones since they'll paint up nice. Otherwise, there's not too much else to do since you don't see much stowage on the Chally 2 in Iraq.

Hope this helps.

Jim
