For me, hands down, it was the 1/72 AMC Sturmtiger. A total piece of crap. At the time, it was the only Sturmtiger available. The tracks were useless, the detail both soft, and thick and chunky. The running gear was crap. I modified the running gear from a Fujimi 1/76 Tiger late (just beautiful), I used the Eduard Tiger I PE set and I did a lot of scratchbuilding. Nothing fit properly either. It was a humungous effort, but it took bronze at our model show here in Calgary in 2005.
Very frustrating, but I am happy with the finished product.
The worst kit I ever threw in the garbage was the 1/72 ARMO resin Porsche Kingtiger with zimmerit - my first (and last) experience with resin.
