Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

I know Dragon kits are well respected but the worst time I had with a kit was Dragon's first Hummel release. Instructions were the biggest problem. In three areas the instructions had you putting the parts on incorrectly. The chassis had no holes for the Idler wheels and many of the parts simply didn't fit well. I finished it but it is yet to be painted. There was little enjoyment in the whole process of construction.
I was going to build a Maquette Marder until I opened it up and saw sink holes so large that I was shocked any company would allow there name on this product. They were bad enough that to this day I'm not sure if the molding may have been bad and it simply got past their quality people. I've never bought another one to find out if their other kits were as bad as the Marder
