RHPS is probably your best bet for the extenders, they are designed to glue to any syrene track and when I have seen them they are quite thin. They are just the duckbills and glue to the sides of the end connectors.
I don't know of modelkasten makes any extended end connectors or not. The track set you would need is the T62 type tracks, They are the SK-64's. But they are almost 1,000 pieces just for the tracks on a Sherman.
Personally, I prefer the RHPS. 40% less pieces than the Modelkasten and look great. They are what I used on my own Firefly.
