Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

Lee,
Here's a list off the top of my head of guns bigger than 105mm:
1/144th: Fujimi makes a Dora railgun; if you like bigass, this is it. Haven't seen reviews yet, but Squadron carries it and they're supposed to be extra good at shipping if you're stationed overseas.
1/72nd-1/76: Attack makes resin version of the Flak 44 and the twin 128mm Flakzwilling 40. Ace has a nice plastic 150mm gun. 5-Star (I think) has a 240mm french/german railgun. Hauler does the US 240mm howitzer.
1/35th: AFV Club's US 155mm gun has been around for a while. Precision Models has (had?) both the 17cm & 21cm german guns in resin. Their website is still up, but I haven't heard of anything new lately, although if you can stand working with resin parts the size of eyelashes, their kits should be easy to track down. Supposedly, there are preorders being taken for a 1/35th Dora. Don't know if it's vaporware, but shipping that sucker home would be a hassle, considering it would be five or six feet long...!
My wife is giving me "the look" so I'll leave it to others to fill in the blanks.
I wish we could get a US M1 90mm AAA and 240mm howitzer in 1/35th plastic. Wowsa!
Take good care; my nephew is doing secret squirrel stuff with satellites in Afghanistan. He called my neice to wish her a happy wedding and the caller ID said 1 800 555-1212...
