Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

Gary,

Tank Workshop and Ironside are the only two manufacturers of Box Cars. I'm not sure what Ian was refering too, but DML has not manufactured a boxcar. They make several flat cars (Tiger and Panther), and several frieght wagons (including a gondola), but none that are covered. I have the Tank Workshop and Ironside boxcars and I would recommend neither one. The TW one is poorly cast and is very chunky. The Ironside one has vauge detail. I modified the chasis from a DML kit to fit the Ironside box. That seems to work.

George
