The upper structure side panel parts J22 and E27 lack splash guards in front of visors. It appears two J43 parts are meant to be these splash guards, but are not explained in the instruction sheet.

Both Pz.IV ausf D and E did not have these splash guards, if applique armour is attached to these parts, and SOME ausf Es without the applique armour do not too (this means that you can find ausf Es without the applique armour sporting these splash guards). But, in all photos of ausf Ds without the applique armour I have seen, these splash guards are present.

Be sure to attach J43 in front of the side visors on J22 and E27, when building an ausf D without the applique armour. There is no locating hole or guide to indicate the exact positions of these splash guards. So, you need a reference photo or two.
