Having studied all my material on the KV, I concluded that unless you plan on damaged trackguards, p/e is not really essential apart from for the grilles, which really demand it as the plastic ones look obvious - I was surprised to see how few KV models at AMPS this year had them. All the other bits are easily made from styrene or p-e scrap unless you demand open bins.

Aber's set is by far the best of those grilles I have seen (Eduard's mesh is far too coarse - look at the APG KV-1 photos on Tankxheaven) and Aber's frame design matches exactly the one I used when making my own (but it's much less work!) as the geometry of the later type is a little complex due to the flat front end.

I bought three sets and will start soldering them up mext week, all being well.
