OK I solved the problem on the jack. I sanded down the raised housing where the jack arm attaches to. I also thinned the plate that attaches betwwen the housing and arm.

The jack on the left is reworked and the one on the right is not modified.

The jack now fits perfectly. Initially considered using the jack from Aber's German tool set but the jack is significantly smaller.
