The markings for 4 Panzer Regiment 7, 10 Panzer Division (vehicle number 432) on the Tristar Pz IV ausf B is incorrect. The vehicle should be a Pz IV ausf C. Photos of this vehicle is quite common and was used for propaganda purposes during the war. This vehicle had the L-shaped aerial deflector hence definitely an ausf C.
Photo below is from Fedorowicz book - 10 Panzer Division. The vehicle number is censored in this photo but is shown in the same photo (in black and white) earlier in the book. This photo is also shown in one of the Concord books (I can't remember if it is #7053 Panzer Vor!, #7041 Achtung Panzer: The German Invasion of France and the Low Countries or #7033 Panzer Division 1935-45: The Early Years). Concord also states that the overspray around the Bison is in blue. |
