Hi Matt: I don't know if this matters but I know for certain that Academy was working with US Ordnance Dept drawings. These were the same ones that Steve Zaloga used to compare the Academy bogie housings. I appreciate your example of an aircraft w/compressed or non compressed oleos. I used to chop off 2mm of my 1/72 Italeri Ju-88s' struts and modify the scissors gear -- they sat way too tall, especially if I was modelling them loaded w/ordnance.

However with the Academy M3 Lee, it's not as if the roadwheel arms are compresed or not. It's unfortnately the VVS bogie housing face. When compared to actual examples, it's noticable. You're right about this being 3 inches off. Unfortunately the 3 inch gap that should be there isn't due to the lengthened bogie housing face. This has nothing to do with the overall height of the tank as its roadwheels are correctly spaced on the vertical plane.
