| The 1/25th scale Tiger tank was released in 1970, the same time as Tamiya's original 1/35th scale Tiger I. As such, it shares all of the errors of the smaller kit, notably a symmetrical turret and an overlong gun tube. It has a full interior, though much detail is missing or simplified. The tracks are individual vinyl links that snap together--a great idea, though they are rather too thick. Still, they look the part, and assemble in minutes. It represents an early production model with Feifel air cleaners and drum-style cupola. The figures are pantographed up from Tamiya's original German tank crew, so they are a bit doll-like in appearance. The originals in 1/35th were also about 5'6" and I suspect the 1/25th scale versions are also short, though I haven't measured them. |
