Hi Mike,
I got this kit when it first came out. I was in high school and it was a Christmas present. At the time it was the coolest thing I had ever seen in a model box and was a blast to put together.As mentioned it has all the problems of the original 1/35th scale Tamiya Tiger I but that shouldn't stop you from enjoying a fun and unusual kit. The engine compartment is missing the most interior detail and the engine is represented by just a flat top plate with no side detail. However, there is so much info available on the Tiger I these days that a scratchbuild of the missing details would be quite impressive. Or just buld it out of the box and enjoy the nostalgia of old time kit building without the pressure and angst of AMS.
I still have it though I have disassembled it with the hope of rebuilding it with extra detailing and the like. If I remember correctly, On The Mark started to make 1/25th scale PE sets for these old Tamiya kits. If you could find one of those it might give you a head start on the extra detailing you may wamt to do.
