Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

Subject:  Dragon Pz IV link tracks, filling holesList thread.

I am just finishing up a Dragon Hummel (6004) and am using the kit supplied link to link tracks. I know they are not the best, but we are on a budget here... Anyway, each link has two pin marks (sunken) and was wondering is someone knew of some slow drying putty or the like to fill these with. I have used Squadron Green in the past, and Testors and they both dry so fast, you get maby two holes filled and your putty is stiff. Mr Surfacer 500 takes many layers, and also drys pretty fast although laquor thinner can bring it back. Any other ideas? I have some R&J zimmer it right epoxy putty that would work good and has about an hour working time, but it tends to stick to everything but the plastic. Any other tricks up your sleves? I have several sets of these type tracks I will be using over time and would really like to find an easier way. Thanks.
