Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

I use the Squadron white putty mainly and have found that it is ideal for this task. Having said that, I try to use the Dragon links on the top runs where the inner faces are not visible and MK for the rest but where they were the only thing I had available (or on Trumpeter KV track, for example), I found that the Squadron filler was fine. I use sanding sticks to remove the excess afterwards and filling a link at a time by taking out only as much as I nede from the tube avoids any problems with setting too soon. Any form of styrene solvent (Tamiya cement does the job) can probably be used to dilute it a bit before setting, as it is toluene-based.
