Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

Italeri is the only company that has tooled a 1/35th scale Crusader, as far as I know, and offers all three production versions as well as the antiaircraft tank (if a Tamiya 1960's kit ever existed, it would be best avoided anyway--1960's Tamiya kits were dismal). Italeri's tooling is very delicate and stands up well to current standards, though their molding sometimes does not--sink marks on thick parts are one of their trademarks, a result of demolding when the plastic parts are too warm. The vinyl tracks are nicely done, too, but will not sag properly if the variant you are doing lacks sand shields (with sand shields, the upper run of the track is invisible). Revell Germany reboxes Italeri kits under their own label (they have the Mk III in their line right now), and Tamiya reboxes them for release in Japan. Friul offers repalcement tracks if desired.
