Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

Dragon's T-34-85 (also released by Shanghai Dragon as a "Chinese Volunteer" tank in Korea), would be fine for Budapest. The RPM/Maquette T-34-85 Model 1946 could be correct, though I haven't seen any photos of that specific variant (the one with the fore and aft turret ventilators) in Budapest. It's a more difficult build than Dragon's, though.
The Tamiya IS-3 needs to be updated (or the Trumpeter IS-3M kit backdated) to depict a Stalin in Budapest.
The T-54 was in service but the T-34-85 was still more common. For a T-54, you would need a Tamiya T-55 and a resin conversion to backdate it (if accuracy is less important, the Trumpeter T-54 could be used--it's hull dimensions are a bit off for the electric motor to fit, and the tracks are not great).
