The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too. |

| Subject: | DML Sherman M4A1(76)W issues | |

Kevin,
This kit is one of the most accurate Sherman kit currently available, but it does have a few issues:
- Incorrect style front fenders (the old Italeri kit has the correct ones).
- Superfluous filler caps on either side of the air intake (just behind the turret), which must be removed.
- One-sided, solid idler wheels.
- Incorrect style drive sprockets (large-hatch M4A1's had either the solid type or the later "fancy" type with grooved notches).
- Kit still lacks a proper US style antenna mount.
As for specific info regarding Polish vehicles, someone else will have to help you with that. All I know is that the kit was designed to build into a M4A1(76)W of the initial batch deployed in time for Operation Cobra. As such, it comes with the earlier VVSS suspension with straight (horizontal) return roller arm and a main gun barrel without thread protector. I don't know if Polish vehicles were from the same batch, or if they were from a later batch with M1A1C gun w/thread protector and the revised VVSS suspension with upswept return roller arms.
Cheers!
