The Academy Tigers offered outstanding value when they were originally released- and indeed I think the early still holds up pretty well. The overall kit is fairly solid and yes, the interior is missing lots of stuff but if it's the overall impression you're going for, grab one and build it. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I have the mid-version on the workbench as a long term project having replaced the engine and radiators and added hoses and wiring, replaced the track with MK links, scratchbuilt the bracing for the torsion bars, replaced the turret with an ABM turret, added tank workshop interior details, etc. And then I saw Lee LLoyd's article in AFV Modeller...
