Yep, on my 234/4 I got the same problems too!
And solved in the same way as described before; remove all the locating pins from the top hull part.
Then I went on to fix the front and rear ends first, let them dry hard and only then went on to do the sides.
Small gaps remained on both sides between top and bottom hull halves.
But to my relief these were all covered in the next step when the "fenders" parts A1 and A3 went on.
My advice thus is, you gotta plan (and glue...) it carefully in such a way that any gaps that are left are made invisible by the fenders.
Not to worry about the gaps on the interior side either.
Because of the angle of the hull top combined with the thickness of the plastic no gaps showed on the inside.
Which should come as a great relief to all coz' puttying/sanding on the inside would be a pretty unpleasant job.
Though admittedly this whole thing is a bit of a turnoff on one of Dragon's newest kits the solution is not so awkward as it may seem initially.
Like Ken Hartlen just said before me; comparing thids kit to earlier Italeri 234's is not even fair. There literally is a century of difference between them, qualitywise and detailwise.
Happy Modelling
