Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

No review of it out as yet, but I'd be surprised if Dragon were to lease out molds for a kit they hadn't first released themselves. Of course, Zvezda can do good work when they set their minds to it, but their releases have been hit and miss over the years. If it is "inspired" by Dragon (or AFV Club's) excellent versions, we can only cheer, as the two Asian powerhouses seem to have abruptly abandoned their German halftrack series halfway through (let us just hope that it bears no resemblance to the old Nitto version).
Of course, I have no idea when (or even if) Zvezda's 251 B version will appear in the shops here. Sad to say, the industry is dominated right now by the East Asian manufacturers, and it's hard to find any coverage of new kits coming from Eastern Europe. Miniart's T-70 has barely made a stir, and it's a terrific little kit. Yet it was on the market for months in Europe before anybody imported it into North America. And Alan's new 88mm gun has been likewise ignored so far. And ICM's 1/35th scale World War One figure sets never were imported into the US, and now they're discontinued.
