With regards to research and resources - the inspiration for dropping the engine in the back for my third effort was the cover article in Tamiya Model Magazine January 2005 (Issue 111). If you can get this it is worth the effort. It has a complete breakdown, review, and construction, including the On the Mark resin conversion, to create a gold metal winner. I thought a really neat vignette would be a Berge towing a Berge.
Best single source for plans and photos are the TankPower (Waldemar Trojca) Series on the Panther, particularly Vol 4. The separate pull-out plans are great and include jib arrangements, winch, spade and overall vehicle views from top, side, front, and rear. There are many great photos too. But you are left to your own devices for the rear support of the winch.
