Agree with Thomas. The Trumpeter kit is real great.
The Tracks can be replaced with the excellent ones from Fruil (Late type for the TRU 209). They are the only correct length and width, and fits the Trumpeter sprockets nice. Also you should consider adding the Eduard PE kit for the Trumpeter Karl. This quite simple kit contains small parts and details such as instrument panel, tools fittings, correct barrel rifeling insert etc. All I miss here are a few wing nuts.
There is also a very nice metal barrel made by ARMO available - but it has wrong number of rifflings inside the barrel (...just as the original from Trumpeter...). Usually I would not care this kind of rivet-counting details - but the very Large riffled barrel on the Karl is something everyone would notice - as the real thing had about twice as meny riffles.
There is also an error on the upper deck above the engine, where the engine access panel(s)? is missing. Unfortenately no one really know how this panel originally looked like - as it was probably removed by the Russians sometime after the war, and is missing today on the surviving Kubinka Karl - so we cannot blame Trumpeter for this.
For anyone who want to do some more super detailing of the interior there is a possibility to add som of the interior side-wall details and structures inside the gun-bay. Also some more of the drive-train could be added - but again we do not really know how the original looked like as these details are missing today.
There were a number of small differences among each of the guns. if you look in the references around you will probably notice - otherwise these are explained on Kazutaka Yokotas excellent Karl Pages.
Hope this helps
