The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too. |

The Cyber Hobby Wittman Tiger appears to correspond pretty much with the Early Production Tiger as kitted by Tamiya and Academy. It's an early 1943 model with the Feifel air cleaners with the single upper chambers, shrouds for the exhaust system, standardized stowage box and mudguards (missing or extemporized in the DAK and Leningrad Three-in-One kits), drum-style cupola and reinforced armor on the mantlet around the sight apertures.
Indeed, this is the commonest of all early Tiger variants, and could be released with markings for almost every outfit that ever operated the Tiger I, which leads to the question, why is this a Cyber Hobby release only? It could be finished in markings for nine battalions and four armored divisions, which offers considerable market appeal. Meanwhile, their "standard" Dragon kit of an initial Tiger can depict one of just nine vehicles operated by one unit in Russia, the 502nd, and it certainly would seem a much better fit as a "boutique" collectors' kit. Gotta wonder what Freddie Leung was thinking. |
