Hi everyone,
I know a few of you have had the opportunity to build this kit (or something similar). I'm curious to know if they used a different type of styrene plastic in the moulding (which came in this weird band-aid coloured plastic).
I used a new bottle of Testors Liquid Cement and I noticed that it does not work too well with it. I know that the cement is supposed to work by disolving the surface of the plastic in order to create a bonding effect but it seems that I might as well have used water for all the reaction I'm getting. I was trying to assemble the drive sprocket & road wheels.
Bupkis.
Yes, I have washed the kit parts (still on their sprues) in a dishwashing detergent solution and have made sure they were rinsed thoroughly to make sure I got rid of the release agents. What's even stranger is that the glue seems to work in certain spots only.
I thought I got a bad bottle but I tried it on other styrene kits and it worked, so what gives?
Any suggestions?
Thanks and best wishes for the Holidays.
