Actually, most pictures I have seen of M24 light tanks in Korea still had the WWII-pattern, all steel tracks.
Other than that, the Italeri kit has a lot of inherent problems that have nothing to do with the period. In my opinion, this is not by any means a good kit as it misses a lot of detail and a lot of what detail is present is crudely represented.
Depending on how much you're affected with AMS (advance modeler's syndrome), you might have a hard time getting satisfactory results from this kit without investing on aftermarket upgrades.
That said, I believe Formations makes a nice, affordable upgrade set for the M24.
