Steve,
AFV Club have also announced a Stryker in 1/35. With any announced kits from Dragon, Trumpeter or AFV Club there is always a chance the kits will be a long time coming (if and when the kits are actually released)
With the announced increase in price of Trumpeter kits there probably won't be a lot of difference in price.
I have no inside info but Tamiya and Italeri could also "strike" with Stryker kits.
