Hello Alex,
By the looks of your name you must be Dutch, like me.
Do you live in the Netherlands too?
If so, please take a worthwhile trip to the Netherlands Army Museum in Delft.
There is an NL Army Centurion on display in excellent condition;
360deg walkaround possible to view it from all angles.
You certainly will find the answer to your weld beads question there.
If you ask nicely, the staff will let you take any pics you like.
(.. they always tell me it is ok anyway; again if asked nicely, in advance..)
Sorry, since I try to concentrate on WW-II as far as kits go, I don't have an answer to your rubber wheels question.
But I will keep an eye on possible useful solutions to this problem since for the Centurion kit I will probably make a one-off sidestep into Post War.
If for nothing else simply because the Centurion was 'the' Dutch tank in the years that I was in the Army myself.
