Hi
I've got a CH update set in front of me as I write.
On the preformed shields the rives and bolt heads on the outside of the shields are integrated into the shields. The are slightly raised and the bolts are hexagonal, so they look good whiel the rivets are round. The bases for the foliage attachement loops are also raised and have small holes where you could add fuse wire for the loops.
On the inside of the shield, you are provided with separate PE parts for the flashing where on the real AFV the separate armor plaates were joined. The flashing has small protusions for what I guess were the ends of the rivets.
