Hi Juan
Yes I have used Cavalier zimmerit about 4 times.
First... pre fit every section before you glue them down.
Make sure all tool holes, skirts, etc.line up!I use two part epoxy and it can get very messy if your parts don`t fit right.
The zimmerit adds about .020 of an inch or 1 mm of thickness , I have the Panther set that I have not built yet but I noticed that the side rails that hold the skirts will not line up with the front fenders when placed on top of the zimmerit. I use enamal paint or primer as a base coat and have never had a problem with tamiya paint adhering after that. The extra paint also helps make the zimmerit look a little thinner
I have not had problems with bubbles on the thicker parts before.
Cavalier usually puts a touch-up tool with their kits and you might be able to cut out the bad areas ,fill them with green putty, then
use the tool to make the zimmerit pattern.
I hope this helps! |
