Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

Hi Gary,

I have what I think is an older version of the resicast conversion (it's been reworked recently I think). I have not looked at it for a long while now, it has been packed in storage for two years whilst I am working on contract in China.

However, the one that I have does not include the actual turret. I had to purchase it separately (that's bearing in mind that I have not been able to get my hands on the DML M4A4 yet and plan to use their latest Firefly kit as basis for the conversion instead). If you have the M4A4 already, I am guessing you won't have the same problem as I do, i.e. you will already have the correct turret. I can't remember if it had all the other turret fittings in the conversion, even though I vaguely remember the canvas mantlet cover and gun tube.

I also recall that the bicycle chains were a little "iffy" in my conversion, but that's fully understandable since they are probably a b**ch to mold. The rest of the conversion is up to resicast's normal (excellent) standards. I am considering using regular ball and chains (a' la Legend) instead of the bicycle chains in the kit - even though they were less common..

Not sure if that was actually your question, but maybe helpful. :-)

Cheers..
