Forums - Modelling / Kits

The kits forum is for the discussion of model kits. Typically questions on availability or certain subjects and quality of existing kits are posted here. Short reviews are good here too.

Wow. I'm surprised they didn't replace the front tires. If the "scale thickness" of the kit needs this much to make it acceptable, indeed why use any of the base kit? How about new fenders, drive and idler wheels, scale thickness exhaust pipe all the way from the exhaust manifold, scale thickness frame, etc, etc, etc. I'm sure there will be people out there that "just have to get one", but for me it is supreme sillyness.

I can however after saying that absolutly understand some one wanting to try this just for the challenge of something more than just gluing plastic together. After all that is one of the reasons I use photo etch and resin aftermarket items, partly for the appearance, partly for the accuracy, but also just for the challenge.

But for me personally, I'm just not at that point yet where I feel the need to discard what looks to me more like 95% not 60% of the kit.All I see of the original is the fenders, tires and rear running gear, machine guns, and probably the frame. But that's just probably for the frame, they might have actually given us a "scale thickness" frame to make also.
